Located on an elevated hillside development in Colorado Springs, this new contemporary 3,400 s.f. residence sits minutes from Downtown, Garden of the Gods park, and city open spaces. The home was designed to take advantage of the surrounding mountain and downtown city views, as well as natural light, with the basic massing of the house extrapolated to create pockets of outdoor space within the compact site. Design elements were curated to carefully celebrate a contemporary take on mountain living; thoughtfully mixing industrial features with warm, natural materials and details.

The design incorporates sustainable features that include: passive solar that orients the house to allow high clerestory windows to self heat during the winter and provide shade in the summer, a solar thermal heating system that ties to a concrete slab radiant floor system, a highly insulated envelope, water-efficient plumbing fixtures, and a planned solar photovoltaic panel system for the roof.
